F-dúr szimfóniá</em>ját (op. 90) Beethoven <em>Eroicá</em>jához szokták hasonlítani, ugyanis mindkét műben drámai harc folyik, de amíg Beethovennél egy hős drámájának vagyunk részesei, Brahmsnál a lélek vívja harcát és csendes győzelmét a fináléban. Brahms <em>Harmadik</em>jában a megdöbbentően drámai kezdés a vívódások előszava, és miközben a hullámzó érzelmekhez rendelt hullámzó dallamvonalak, a kiváló fúvósszólókkal elmélyített fájdalom tartja fogva a hallgatót, a gyötrődésekben mégis van valami hősiesség, ami nem más, mint az egyén hősies akarata, hogy szenvedésein felülkerekedhessen. Még a táncos ringatózások mélyén is fájdalom, vágy, remény és harc húzódik meg. Az Andante-tétel a lelki békét szenvedélyesen kereső, elmélkedő, befelé forduló zeneszerző műve. A szenvedélyes miértekkel, megválaszolatlan kérdésekkel teli Scherzo-tétel „a vágy dala”, bánatos-esdeklő témája az 1961-ben készült <em>Szereti Ön Brahmsot? </em>című nagysikerű film kísérőzenéjeként is ismert. A lélekháború szívbe markoló drámaisággal tombol tovább az utolsó tételben, még a pillanatnyi legkisebb reménysugarat is feszültség fojtja el, de végül, mintegy isteni sugallatra mégis elcsendesedik a vihar, és marad a szelíd megbékélés, a csendes megnyugvás.</span><p style="font-family:nerislight;color:#48484a;font-size:16px;line-height:20px;text-align:left;margin-bottom:19px;display:block;"><span style="color:#48484a;display:block;font-family:nerislight;font-size:16px;line-height:20px;margin-bottom:19px;text-align:left;">Brahms <em>III. F-dúr szimfóniá</em>ja mély érzelmeket kelt, lélekhez szól, elgondolkodtat és felemel. Lawrence Foster minden apró rezdülését figyelemmel kísérve a zenekar kitűnően muzsikált, kiválóak voltak a hangszerszólók is. Lawrence Foster korát meghazudtoló energiával, a tapasztalt karmester eleganciájával és bölcs nyugalmával, a legapróbb részletekben is a művészi egészet szolgálva tárta fel Brahms zenéjének drámai mélységeit és lírai szépségeit. A CD- minőségben elhangzott szimfóniából és az azt követő szűnni nem akaró tapsviharból ítélve nem vitás, hogy a „<em>Szereti Ön Brahmsot?</em>” kérdésre csakis igennel válaszolhatunk.</span></p><p style="font-family:nerislight;color:#48484a;font-size:16px;line-height:20px;text-align:left;margin-bottom:19px;display:block;"><span style="color:#48484a;display:block;font-family:nerislight;font-size:16px;line-height:20px;margin-bottom:19px;text-align:left;">Antonin Dvořák (1841–1904) <em>Szláv táncok</em> (op. 46) című zenekari sorozata nem csupán azért került az est műsorába, hogy Brahms lélekháborújának drámai hangulatát feloldja, hanem azért (is), mert a két zeneszerző baráti kapcsolatot ápolt, sőt Dvořák<em> szláv táncai</em> Brahms ösztönzésére keletkeztek. A nyolc táncból álló sorozat eredetileg négykezes zongoradarabként látott napvilágot – a nyolcadik éppen Brahms 45. születésnapján készült el –, de a négykezes változat sikerén felbuzdulva Dvořák a táncokat rövid időn belül meghangszerelte, és azóta ebben a formában váltak népszerűvé szerte a nagyvilágban. A táncok többsége cseh népdal szellemében íródott, csak a <em>Skočná</em> szláv eredetű. A táncsorozatban két gyors, tüzes <em>Furiant</em> hallható, az egyik a táncokat indítja, a másik nyolcadikként zárja. A két <em>Furiant</em> között hangzik el a melankolikus, balladajellegű <em>Dumka</em>, az élénk <em>Polka</em> és a cseh mulatságok elengedhetetlen tánca, a féllassú két <em>Sousedská</em>, valamint a „komikusok táncaként” is ismert két <em>Skočná.</em> A fülbemászó dallamokon és a hangulatos hangszerszólókon túl Dvořák<em> szláv táncai</em>nak aranyporát a határozott férfiasság és a lágy nőiesség, az ünnepélyesség és elegancia, a pajkos játékosság, vidámság és népi humor, a hazafias lendület és a világot átölelő boldogság jelenti.</span></p><p style="font-family:nerislight;color:#48484a;font-size:16px;line-height:20px;text-align:left;margin-bottom:19px;display:block;"><span style="color:#48484a;display:block;font-family:nerislight;font-size:16px;line-height:20px;margin-bottom:19px;text-align:left;">Sikeres hangverseny, igazi koncertvarázs volt.
