Nagyjából ilyen\n ismérveket sorakoztatnak fel az idősebbek a generációs szakadék túloldaláról, amikor a mai fiatalokat jellemzik. Ez a Z\n generáció azonosító kódja, amennyiben nem felejtjük el hangsúlyozva hozzátenni az internet- és telefonfüggőséget.\n Talán igaz. Talán nem.</h2>\t\t\n \t\t<p>Ha a jól bevált érmés hasonlattal élünk, akkor ennek a jelenségnek két oldala van: egyrészt meglehet, hogy valóban elembertelenedett nemzedék vagyunk, önzők, egyszerre sikerorientáltak és élvhajhászok, másrészt talán mi pusztán kapu vagyunk a világ átalakulásában, a fejlődés úttörői, nem feltétlenül rossz vagy helytelen, csupán sajátos normákkal. Itt az egyetlen bökkenő az, hogy az érme nemcsak fej és írás: perem is, ami a két előbbi találkozási pontja. A téma pereme a látens kétségbeesés. Nincs harcunk, nincs tragédiánk, amerikai álmunk van, és néha elképesztő teher, hogy mindent elérhetünk, minden megtörténhet. Generációk munkálkodtak azon, hogy eljusson az emberiség arra a szintre, ahol (nyíltan, érzékelhetően) nem valósul meg a háború. A Z generáció ebbe született bele, és a technológiai forradalomba. Normák, értékrendek értékelődtek át, problémák nőttek meg vagy zsugorodtak össze. Olyan gondok merülnek fel, amivel szüleink nemzedékének nem kellett megbirkóznia, nem is tudott volna a körülményekből kifolyólag. A tőlük kapott segítség és tanács sokszor olyan, mintha egy régi alkotmányban keresnénk a szabályokat és eljárási módokat egy új rendszer problémáira. Ahogy az őrültet a zsenitől egy hajszál választja el, úgy a mindent is a semmitől. „Mindent” megkaphatunk, de ez minden attól, hogy ennyire elérhető, nem bír már szakrális, mitikus jelentőséggel, a minden pórias lett. Nincsen közös cél: stagnálunk. „Ezek a mai fiatalok” mint korcsoport, közösség, nihilisták lettek. A lét tulajdonképpen értelmetlen, haladás nem történik, azaz utópia az otthonunk, amiről ezelőtt csak álmodtak, mi meg nem tudjuk, mit kezdjünk vele. Rémisztő belegondolni, hogy a nihilizmus demonstratív alakjai között nemcsak Nietzsche és Schopenhauer, hanem egész generáció felsorakoztatható.</p><p>Az internet jóvoltából percenként különböző ingerekkel vagyunk bombázva, amihez annyira hozzászokunk, hogy toleránsak leszünk a mennyiségre, ezért folyton többet akarunk. Ez a kényszeres impulzuskeresés csapódik le az „internetes önmagunk” megalkotásában. Olyan képeket osztunk meg magunkról, amelyektől elvárjuk, hogy bevonzza a kedveléseket, nyilvánosan beszólunk egymásnak kommentszekciókban, és a belső frusztrációktól toxikus és sokszor vulgáris, liberális maszk mögött intoleráns internetközösség tagjaivá válunk, akarva-akaratlan. A mémek egyre durvábbak, érzéketlenebbek, és ezzel arányosan csökken a sértődés és a magunkra vonatkoztatás mélysége, nő az önirónia. A poénok sok esetben inkább értelmetlenek, mint viccesek, és a világlátásunkról a szórakozásunkra is áttelepszik a sötétség: fekete humor, horrorfilmek. Érezni akarunk. Valami újat, valami intenzívet, valami másat. Nemcsak mást akarunk érezni, másak szeretnénk lenni is. A ma embereinek megemelkedett a figyelemigényük, ki akarnak tűnni. Már kiskamaszként/gyermekkét a bőre alámászik az embernek a vágy, hogy ő valamivel több legyen másnál, leginkább saját magánál. Ezért annyira belemerül az önteremtésbe, hogy végül nem ismeri magát. Jobban mondva azt, mik lennének az igényei és a preferenciái, ha nem megfelelni és azon túlmutatni szeretne. Csak kárpótolni akarjuk magunkat a hiányérzetért, amiért sajnos senkit nem lehet hibáztatni – pedig talán úgy könnyebben elviseli az ember. Ez lenne az érme pereme jócskán pesszimista- realista megvilágításban.
